561 kg ganja seized from truck in Karnal

KARNAL: A team of Haryana State Narcotic Control Bureau (HNCB) of Ambala unit claimed to have seized 561.750 kg of ganja patti (cannabis), worth about Rs 3 crore, on Wednesday morning. However, the accused managed to flee from the spot.Police said the consignment was hidden under the bags of Binola (feed) loaded in a truck, which was on its way to Mewat. SP (HNCB) Tahir Hussain said, "A team, led by sub-inspector Rajesh, were returning from Mathura, when they got a tip off about the smuggling of drugs in a truck, which was coming from Mathura Kosi in Uttar Pradesh. The team laid a naka near Ujina village on NH 19A in Hodal. But after noticing the team, the driver abandoned the truck on the road.
